Lush Makeup | Review & Swatches

Lush has been blessing the beauty community for many, many years. Their products are incredible and they always make us feel better. And while I’ve tried many of their products, I recently found myself realizing that I haven’t tried their makeup.

A month ago I stumbled upon a Lush store in Bilbao and decided to try some of their makeup items. If you want to know what I think of them make sure to keep reading!

My expectations for Lush makeup were not exactly high. Since the products they use are very natural and fresh, I questioned if the products would be any good. I got a foundation, an illuminator and a makeup remover because they were the products that caught my attention.

Dark Yellow Colour Supplement aka. Foundation

Now, the first thing I’m gonna say about this product is that the color is a bit too dark for me. Unfortunately they don’t have the biggest color selection and light yellow was too pale for me. This product is vegan and it’s made with natural ingredients.

That aside, this product is a very light coverage foundation. You can use it on it’s own or mix it with your moisturizer for an even lighter coverage. If you’re into no-makeup makeup then this could be your perfect base!

For me this didn’t have enough coverage and I found it to be a bit dewy. You can set it and it does work nicely with makeup on top. It makes your skin look very healthy and while it doesn’t provide coverage I did find that it evened out my skin tone. I don’t think this is a bad product, it’s just not something I would necessarily reach for.

Feeling Younger Illuminating Base aka. Highlight

Out of the three products that I bought, this one is my favorite. When I swatched it in store it felt very lightweight and the reflect was a gorgeous white-gold. You can use this with your moisturizer or mix it in with your foundation.

On the face it performs just as well. You can use a tiny bit for a natural glow or you can build it up to your desired pigmentation. I tried it out as a highlighter and I also mixed it with my foundation and the results were very good. I tried it on top of powder and it worked perfectly as well.

The only con to this product is that it is really glittery and it will get all over your face as the hours go by. So if you’re not a fan of glittery highlighters then steer away from this one.

Ultrabland aka. Makeup remover

I’m quite on the fence about this product. Whilst it is vegan and good for your skin, one of the main ingredients is bees wax and I don’t know how I feel about that.

When I tried it on my face it removed the makeup perfectly. My face was clean of makeup but it felt a little waxy. You do have to remove this with a wet wash cloth, and I found that help with the whole wax situation.

I do not recommend you use this on your eyes/eyebrows. I think it’s a little too heavy to use on these areas and when I tried it out, I ended up loosing a few eyelashes and eyebrows. Not. Cool.

So to summarize, I think this is great to remove makeup on your face but keep it away from your eye area.

Overall I think Lush makeup is ok. If you only wear natural products and like a very subtle look, then give these a go. If you’re into full glam, look somewhere else sister.

Have you tried any makeup products from lush? What do you think about em?

Thank you all so much for reading!

Lots of love,

Isa ❤
