Today it’s all about lip products; my favorite category of drugstore/affordable beauty. There are way too many great affordable lip products to name all of them so I condensed my top 8 into this post.
Check out the creme de la creme of affordable lip products below!
Aquaphor is a classic product and a must-have in my opinion. I keep it in my makeup kit because it works on everybody’s lips. The formula of this is very simple and straightforward but it works. It hydrates the lips so well without feeling goopy. This product is also great for lip prep because it works perfectly under lipsticks.
These are hands down the best affordable lip liners I’ve ever tried. The formula is very creamy so they glide easily on the lips; no tugging. They’re long-lasting and non-drying so they’re perfect to use under other lip products or on their own. Possibly my favorite thing about these is the wide array of colors Colourpop offers. There’s a color for everyone.
Elf has been stepping up their game with their products lately and these lipsticks are no exception. These are a mix between a balm and a lipstick ––thus creating a sheer lipstick. They’re very hydrating and comfortable to wear which leads me to believe they’re perfect for daily use. They also come in a few different shades. Mostly vibrant colors and a few nudes sprinkled here and there.
You’ve heard me rave about these time and time again, so you know I love them. These are some of my favorite lipsticks to use because the formula is very comfortable to wear. They’re similar to the elf ones I just mentioned but these are way more pigmented and have a wider color range. They’re also glossy as opposed to balmy so they stick better to the lips and migrate less.
The Color Sensational line is my favorite at the drugstore for classic bullet lipsticks. Within the line there are matte, cream, and glossy finishes; so there’s something for everyone. The whole Color Sensational range offers high-quality formulas that are comfortable to wear at a great price. And there are so many colors to choose from so you’ll definitely find your perfect match!
These are the OG liquid lipsticks and my favorite affordable ones to this date. The formula is a semi-matte that doesn’t set completely, so you’re safe from crusty, dry-looking lips when you wear these. Because the formula doesn’t dry 100%, these aren’t as long-lasting as intense liquid lipsticks. I’d say they’re semi long-lasting and very comfortable to wear.
Yet another hybrid formula. These are a mix between a liquified lipstick + a gloss and, I gotta say, it’s a perfect mix. The lipstick part makes these very intensely pigmented and semi-long-lasting, and the gloss part makes them comfortable to wear and glossy ––duh!. Because of the nature of the formula, these transfer, but I don’t really mind. The high-quality formula and the low price trumps it all.
These glosses are Maybelline’s newest release. And while I haven’t had the chance to try them yet, everyone’s raving about them. From my extensive research, I can tell you these are silky glosses that don’t feel goopy or heavy on the lips. They come in a creamy formula and a shimmery formula and both are equally comfortable to wear. Apparently, they’re also dupes for the Fenty Gloss Bombs, and for a fraction of the price, I’ll take them!
And that’s a wrap on my favorite drugstore/affordable lip products. What are yours?
Thank you so much for reading! I hope this was helpful 🙂
