The Best Lightweight Foundations for Summer 2019

Did anyone say, more summer-themed posts?

Today I wanna discuss foundations. During summer I tend to avoid foundation at all costs but, sometimes you just gotta wear some. So I made it my goal to find the best ones to wear this season.

Finding a base that works under extreme heat is not as hard as one might think. It’s all about finding products that are lightweight and wear well in hot weather.

I found 4 that range from drugstore to luxury and they are the perfect bases to wear all summer long.

Check them out!

Erborian BB Cream Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20

Apart from having the longest name ever, this is one of the best BB cream like product I’ve ever put on my face.

When you apply this, it feels like a skincare product and it makes your face look so healthy! It evens out the skin nicely and it makes you look flawless. The best part is that you barely feel it when it’s on. It kind of locks into your skin and stays there until you take it off. Pretty magical.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Youthful-Look 24HR Foundation Spf 25

What’s up with these foundations having freakishly long names?

Anyways, if you’ve been here for a while you might know that I have mixed feelings about this product. Most of the year I do not enjoy how this foundation looks on my skin. But during the summer it magically transforms into a great product.

The formula reminds me a lot of sunscreen but with good coverage. It’s watery and it applies best with the hands. It’s a very lightweight, semi-matte product which is why it works in hot weather. The matte-ness controls the oils and it gives your skin an even, satin look. I’m telling ya, this foundation thrives in the summer.

BareMinerals Matte Loose Powder Mineral Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15

I’m never one to fumble around with powder foundations, but the summer heat is definitely the best time to bust them out. Powder foundations don’t only give you coverage, but they keep your oils and sweat at bay. Best of both worlds.

This one by BareMinerals is easy to use and it makes your face look amazing. The coverage is customizable so you can add as little or as much as your look needs. It doesn’t cling to dry patches and it looks very lightweight once it’s on. Honestly you’d never be able to tell that this is a powder foundation. It’s just that good!

Maybelline Dream Urban Cover Foundation

I just spoke about this new foundation from Maybelline in my last post, so I’m not gonna ramble on and on.

This is almost an exact dupe to the Marc Jacobs one, except I like it a lot better. And it’s cheaper. The formula is also watery and lightweight but the coverage is so good. It makes your skin look flawless but it doesn’t look heavy and it feels like nothing on the skin.

I also like the fact that it has a lot of protecting elements for the skin, It’s kind of an extra bonus but it’s important. Especially during the summer.

Anyways, these are some foundations that I’ve tested against the heat recently. Keep in mind that I have combination skin that gets oilier during summer. But I believe that most –if not all, will for on any skin type.

Let me know your favorite lightweight foundation in the comment section! I’d love to add some more to my collection 🙂

Thank you so much for reading!

Lots of love,

Isa ❤

Awesome post, perfect for summer ! Who said that foundation is forbidden during the summer season ?!
I am afraid this comment of mine won’t be of any help in growing your collection : I am a huge fan of Erborian BB and CC creams !! Two other products I’m fond of are the CC cream from IT Cosmetics and the Fluidity foundation from Morphe : have you tried these ones ?
