Red is pretty much the official color for the holidays. And even though I love me some red lips, I like to branch out from time to time. And I know some of you think the same!
For today’s post I decided to share my favorite non-red lip colors to wear during this season. I dug through my lipstick collection and I found some great picks! If you wanna know what they are, keep reading friends!
The Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Low Key is one of my favorite brown-y nudes. I like the fact that it’s slightly darker than your average nude, because it still makes your look very interesting but it’s very low maintenance. It’s also a very versatile color, so you can wear it with pretty much any look.
If you follow me on my other socials (you totally should), you know I’m obsessed with the Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick in Gingerbread Man. I love this color because it gives the same impact as red lipstick does, but it is not red at all. It’s kind of like and orange/terracota hybrid, very unique if I do say so myself. Out of all the lip colors that I mention in this post, this one is the one I’ve reached for the most.
Next is the Urban Decay Lipstick in Streak. I am aware they don’t make this formula anymore, but I picked it because of the color. Pink is not a color I usually associate with the holidays, but this pink just works. It’s bright enough to wear as a statement lip but it also works with many different looks. I think pink is a super unique color to bust out during this season.
Berry lips are my fave during the fall time but I also love the color for this time of year. The Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick in Berry Boost is a great and affordable berry lipstick. This color just adds a bit of drama to your looks but it’s not super intimidating. I also find that berry colors give that same red lip effect without the red lipstick.
Moving on to vamp central I have the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Vampira. Dark burgundy lipstick is one of my favorite looks for the holiday season. You can wear them as a statement lip or go full dramatic and you look bomb either way. This color is definitely more high maintenance than the others, but I just love it!
Last but not least I have the Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in Playback. I am also aware that this lip gloss was limited edition, but I picked it because of the color. If you’re not into lip products at all but you still want to add a little something to your look, shimmery lip gloss is the way to go. It will make your lips look super plump and festive in a very subtle way and I think that’s a lovely look. You can also use a shimmery lip gloss on top of any of the other lippies I mention in this post to make them extra festive!
Remember, you guys don’t need the specific products that I mentioned today to achieve your beautiful lip looks. You guys can find similar colors in your collections and make them work!
Am I missing any other holiday lipsticks? If you think I am let me know your suggestions in the comment section of this post 🙂
Thank you all so much for reading!
Lots of love,
