Happy New Year everyone! 2016 is actually here and I can’t believe it. I’m very excited for what this new year will bring me. But I’m even more excited for what it will bring to the makeup world.
I’ve been reading about all of these new makeup trends that are coming out during the spring/summer of 2016, and I want to share my top 6 with you. What better way to start the new year than with fresh and new makeup trends?
Let’s do this!
This has been an ongoing trend for a while, but it’s still a very fresh look. Most tutorials you see out there have super defined brows and while that looks great, it’s super high-maintenance. The boyish brow is a lot messier and not precise at all, it’s very easy to pull off. It gives a natural and fresh look to the face.
Another trend that has been circling the industry. For spring and summer it’s all about faking that very natural look. There’s no major contouring, highlighting, foundation, nothing. Just accentuating the face with little product. Because it wouldn’t be called no makeup-makeup if we didn’t use any.
Pink and Peach Everywhere
This is such a cool trend! Normally these colors are reserved to just lips and cheeks but with this trend you take it to another level. These colors are actually very flattering on mostly everyone. It’s a great way to get into the spring/summer mood and to try something different. All while looking fab.
Now, I don’t mean it literally. What I mean by blue eyes is blue eye makeup. Bold eye makeup colors in general are a trend but blue eyes seem to be the most trendy this year. Wether it’s blue everything or just a tiny bit of blue on the eye, it’s totally trendy. And the best part is that it fits right in with one of the colors of the year!
This trend has gotten a bit crazy, and some people are literally wearing jewelry on their face. But the good news is, you don’t have to. From glittery/metallic lids to lips to anything you can think of, it’s the perfect way to be a bit more expressive with your makeup.
They’re back! For a while now nudes were all the craze but statement lips are back. Different people say different colors are what’s trendy, but from what I’ve seen the color doesn’t matter. The lips speak for themselves, so the rest of the face is super minimal. All of the focus should be on the lips.
And those were my 6 favorite trends for 2016! From what you’ve seen and read, which trends have been your favorite? Make sure to let me know.
