I’ll be leaving to New York in a few hours, and I have a dilemma. What do I pack in my makeup bag? Whenever I start packing I feel like I need to take everything I own, just in case. And I know I’m not the only person who has this problem. That’s why I bring this post to you guys today. I was able to narrow down my makeup quite a bit and I wanted to share my tips on how to pack makeup lighter, and to pack only what you need.
Let’s get right to it!
For my base I have the Estēe Lauder Daywear BB in Light. It has an SPF of 35 and decent coverage. I find it very useful and easy for everyday wear. If I want to have a bit more coverage I have my deluxe sample of the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops in N50. It’s a bit darker than my skin tone but when I mix it with the bb cream it matches me very well. It’s also a mini size so it’s perfect for traveling.
For my setting powder I’m bringing The Balm’s Sexy Mama with me. It’s a good setting powder and the packaging is very slim and compact, great for traveling.
For concealer I have my L’Oreal True Match in Fair/Light and my Urban Decay Naked Skin in Med-Light Neutral. The UD one is way to dark for my under eyes so by mixing it with the true match I get my shade.
The primers I chose to bring are Benefit “That Gal” and MUFE Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer. I’ll use the mattifying one mainly on my T-zone and the brightening one on the rest of my face. Both of them are samples so they’re perfect for traveling.
I’m bringing my Sleek Face Form Palette in fair because it’s super versatile. It has a contour, blush, and highlight all in one. I’m also bringing a mini Laguna Bronzer by Nars just to bronze up my face. I’ll bring my BECCA Beach Tint in Guava cause it’s long wearing and it can also be used as a lip stain.
Lastly to set all of that makeup in place I’m bringing my mini Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. This will keep my makeup looking fresh all day long.
For primer I’ll bring a sample of the Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Primer. It’s small and it works well at holding eyeshadow in place for a long time.
I’m also bringing the Too Faced Natural Matte Eyeshadow Palette. It’s compact and travel friendly but it has enough eyeshadows for me to make different looks. I’ll also bring the ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Smash in case I want something shimmery, since my palette is all matte.
For my brows I have the Gimme Brow from Benefit in Medium/Deep. It’s quick and easy to use, plus it’s tiny. I’ll also be using a shade in the eyeshadow palette to fill in my brows.
For eyeliner I have my Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Trooper. It’s my favorite liner and it’s easy to use. I also have the MUFE Aqua Eyes in 2L. I like brown liner because its easy to pull off but it still gives definition to the eyes. I’m also bringing a nude eyeliner from Physicians Formula for my waterline. It also works as an eyeshadow base since it’s shimmery.
For mascara I have a mini sample of the Givenchy 4 in 1 Mascara. It’s a good mascara but i’m bringing it cause of how tiny and compact it is. I also have the Great Lash Clear Mascara from Maybeline for my lower lash line and for days I won’t be wearing much.
My Kiehl’s Lip Balm comes with me everywhere. It’s really good and it also has some SPF on it.
I’m bringing my Sally Hansen Invisible Lip Liner to be able to pair it with every lipstick no matter what shade. I have a tiny Revlon Lip Liner in Nude. I like to wear this one as a lipstick and I find that it lasts very well throughout the day.
I have my mini Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Gavi. This is a color that I can wear with whatever and not have to worry too much about re applying. It’s the perfect nude. I always bring red lipstick wherever I go, in case I need it. That’s why I’m bringing the ColourPop Lippie Stix in Bossy.
For a gloss I’m bringing the Stila Lip Glaze in Kitten. It’s very summery and it smells amazing. This is a very sticky gloss but it lasts quite long on the lips.
I’m not gonna go through all my brushes cause I think you get the idea from the picture. My favorite thing to bring are dual ended brushes because you have more but they occupy less space. I bring the ones that come in certain palettes, they’re not all bad. I like to bring a ton of eyeshadow brushes cause I can’t be bothered with cleaning them while I’m away. Since I’ll be using the same products with my face brushes I don’t worry much about those. Lastly I bring my Micro Beauty Blender cause it’s supper small and easy to blend concealer with. Also if I ever need to blend something else on my face it’s not super tiny so it can get the job done. The reason I don’t bring my big Beauty Blender with me is because it stays humid throughout the trip and that ruins your BB. It happened to me once.
I know this is still a lot, but if you’re a makeup junkie these are like the bare necessities. I hope this post was helpful and that it gave you some tips and ideas on what makeup to pack on your next trip.
See you guys when I come back!
