Today’s post is about a very exciting experience that I had recently. My cousin’s aunt is a MUA and she needed a team for a fashion show that took place here in Guatemala, and she invited me to be part of her team. I, of course, said yes right away and I’m really glad I did.
The event was a pretty big deal and it was spread all over national news. ‘Amiga’ is a magazine here in Guatemala for those of you who were curious. So basically they held a fashion show and I got to work for well known designers here in Guatemala by putting makeup on their models.
I got to experience the pressure that a MUA has to deal with, wether that be limited time or the designers. There were 8 people in our team, including me, and there were from 80 – 90 models to take care of. It was a very busy day and I worked for approximately nine hours. But I loved it and I learned so much!
At first I was really nervous because I was working with products that I had never used and that I had never experienced before but I made it work along the way. I even put the wrong makeup on a model once but I was able to fix it and move on, even if I was a little embarrassed because of it. After a while I got the hang of it and I had a lot of fun creating awesome makeup looks on beautiful people.
And even though I was super exhausted and very dirty by the end of the day I enjoyed the experience and I want to thank everyone who made it possible for me to have it.
One last thing, I’m sorry about the quality of the pictures but we were super busy and didn’t necessarily have time to take HQ pics.
See you in the next post!
